What does the Bible say about Thanksgiving?
Share
This is the season of thanksgiving, being grateful and counting your many blessings. Thankfulness is something we should practice every day. But especially this time of year, it is so important to give thanks to God.
One of my Mother-in-love's favorite songs at our church is "Count your blessings" written by Johnson Oatman Jr. The lyrics remind us that even if we are discouraged and all seems hopeless; take a moment to count your many blessings and see what the Lord has done.
Having an attitude of gratitude really makes a difference. When you choose to focus on the goodness of God and not your problems, it is powerful and it builds your faith to remember that God always keeps His promises.
Isn't that what the Psalmists wrote about in the Bible? David and the other writers had enemies coming after them and they faced trouble on every side. But, they still gave thanks and praises to the Lord. He is the only One that we can turn to in good times and in bad.
May these 20 Bible Verses about Thanksgiving encourage you, no matter what you may be facing in this season. God is always good, He always keeps His promises and He's always worthy of our thanks!
