1133 Candles exists so you can indulge your senses in the inspiring aroma of God’s Word. We are dedicated to striking a flame of God’s love within your heart as you create memorable moments in your quiet time or with your family. Because we know you are a man or woman of faith who desires for God’s presence to permeate the atmosphere of your home.

Our candles can’t usher in God’s presence, all we have to do is seek Him by faith and worship Him. But the lingering and delicate fragrances, inspired by God’s Word, curates a space that promotes His love, truth and light.  

Faith, family, and giving back are our core values at 1133 Candles. As a family-operated business, we desire to see families draw closer together and closer to Christ.

That’s why we pray over each candle before we send it off. We want you to feel His blessing as you open the package and read the Scripture-inspired message that comes with each candle.

As your senses become lavished with our cozy handcrafted fragrances, you can be worry-free about inhaling toxicity. We don’t want you to suffer from headaches while burning a candle. That’s why we use only pure ingredients and soy wax to create our inspirational candles. Our candles are phthalate-free and use lead-free cotton wicks as well. 

Our Story

We have been committed to creating honest fragrances since the start of our company. Like so many of you, my husband and I enjoyed lighting candles in our home to set the ambiance. But after we discovered that they triggered my husband’s allergies, we had to do away with them. 

That’s when God placed it on my heart to create natural candles that could inspire people in their faith. I launched 1133 Candles based on the Scripture Luke 11:33 in hopes that these scents would illuminate homes with the light of Christ. 

With our Bible verse candles, you never need to worry about ushering an atmosphere into the environment that does not come from the Lord. 

That was the vision God gave me when I first developed the idea for this company. It all began while I was praying one day during my quiet time. He placed it on my heart to create candles that were made with authentic ingredients.

I had no idea what I was doing at first!

But I persisted in my experimentation. Finally, I became confident enough in my creations to share the handmade soy candles with our family during Thanksgiving dinner in 2018. 

To my surprise, our relatives bought all of our handmade soy candles.

That marked the birth of our family business. We have been committed to our mission since then and continue to handcraft our candles with scripture messages in Lakewood, CA.

To better support our mission of shining our light, 1133 Candles donates portions of our proceeds to those in need of God’s love. We give back to at-risk youth through Olive Crest, as well as to families in need through Lakewood Project Shepherd, seniors through Meals on Wheels, Kingdom Causes Bellflower, Preborn, youth sports, church ministries, and various organizations in the USA.
